Role Overview
The Senior Manager - Commercial responsibilities will entail commercial management for the proponent, supporting senior members of staff with strategic advice to the development.
Requirements Summary
- Oversee a wide range of commercial, contracts, costing, budget control, contract administration of consultancies and strategic procurement activities.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
The Senior Manager - Commercial responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Stakeholder Management
- Analyze stakeholders needs, interests, and influence to prioritize engagement strategies.
- Management of cost team staff as appropriate and external cost consultancy practices.
- Management reporting
- Contract Management
- Budget Management
- Management of contracts with consultants and assessment of their performance.
- Cost reporting / and analysis with emphasis on control of costs/budgets.
- Claim Review and Claim avoidance.
- Change and variation management.
- Oversee Interim valuations, payments and final accounts.
- Provide client direction on value engineering opportunities, earned value, value management.
- Programme alignment with commercial risk.
- Dispute guidance.
- Guidance on package Management under different procurement routes to suit risk profile.
- Development of procurement and packaging strategies in coordination with central procurement and Directors.
- Creation and management of short-, mid-, and long-term goals and objectives.
- Review of and management where relevant of existing business process and procedures.
- Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Manage / support contract negotiations in coordination with others.
- Contribute to upskilling capability of local talent.
- Management of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiatives.
- Budget management for categories under management.
- Development of benchmarks and trends to be used for continuous improvement in reporting.
- General roles and duties typical within cost and commercial team effectively making the candidate an excellent utility player with many of the activities being in an assurance and oversight capacity

- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards.

Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 10+ Years Commercial Management experience in the construction, or relevant industry.
- Proven experience & track record in leadership and commercial management.
- Commercial management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Solid operational management and general business and technical skills and savvy.
- Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting and risk management.
- Hands-on experience with financial systems, e-commerce platforms, inventory management and customer support systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders
- Leadership and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse departments.
- Strategic thinking for aligning commercial solutions with business goals.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Membership with Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS / FRICS) or similar.
