Senior Legal Officer
  • Primary Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Officer to join our humanitarian organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing a wide range of legal matters, providing comprehensive legal support and advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves close collaboration with management, business teams, and other functions to proactively manage legal risks, develop standard documentation, and support legal and regulatory projects.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Manage the legal affairs and legal risks of the organization, providing general legal and advisory support.
  • Act as the primary legal representative for the organization's activities in the Philippines.
Work closely with territory management, participating in and contributing to relevant management committees and meetings.
  • Develop, review, and update standard agreements, templates, and legal guidelines.
Draft, review, and finalize contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal support to assess and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring the organization's interests are protected.
Assist in setting up procedures and best practices, negotiating arrangements and legal terms with third parties, resolving legal issues, and proposing solutions.
  • Manage actual and potential litigation involving the organization.
Monitor and interpret the development of relevant laws and regulations in the Philippines.
  • Provide legal advice on day-to-day operations, including labor/employment law issues, technology, property/contract laws, and data protection.
Advise on new products and services to be launched by the organization.
  • Support the Human Resource Division in conducting administrative hearings and resolving administrative cases.
Consolidate reports from other legal consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with major legal changes and evaluate their impact on the organization's policies and procedures.
Perform other legal services as assigned by the organization.
  • Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience gained at a law firm or organization.
  • Sound knowledge of Philippines law and regulations, with relevant experience in corporate commercial matters.
Membership in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents.
Strong background in litigation and corporate legal work.
  • High level of responsibility, ability to work independently, and manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Flexibility to handle a broad spectrum of work and establish new structures and templates.
  • Ability to identify and analyze legal risks quickly, provide responsive and comprehensive solutions with a solution-focused mindset.
Effective and confident communication skills with individuals at all levels of seniority and from diverse cultures.
  • Team player with the ability to work closely and constructively with colleagues across the region.
  • Job Location: PRC National Headquarters, Mandaluyong City
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
