Senior Java Backend Developer

Minimum Qualifications / Skills
5 to 7 years hands-on experience with Java 8+
Experience in automated unit and integration testing
Experience working with SQL and JPA
Demonstrable ability to break down problems and solve them systematically
REST services design & implementation, and microservices architecture

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Hands-on experience with SpringBoot is advantageous but not required
Experience with cloud and containerization technologies is advantageous but not required
Basic knowledge of scripting language (such as python or Unix/Shell) is advantageous but not required
Continuous deployment and delivery (CI/CD) tools
Spark, Camel and/or Akka
Solr or Elasticsearch
Cassandra or other non-relational databases

Responsibilities
Lead the creation, implementation, and maintenance of secure REST APIs and microservices.
Drive automation testing efforts, identify impacted areas, and determine key regression testing focuses.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate on creating user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
Apply DevOps practices, conduct incident management support, and ensure continuous uptime for client-facing services.
Commit to on-call support on a rotation basis, ensuring continuous uptime for client-facing services.
Serve as a technological thought leader, identify and advocate for the adoption of new technologies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
