Job description
We are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer. This senior role will directly report to the Workplace Manager, contributing expertise to our dynamic Care for Needs team.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Oversee the strategic purchase and setup of workstations, ensuring optimal performance.
- Maintain a comprehensive hardware inventory and execute regular maintenance tasks, including defragmentation, Windows updates, and antivirus scans.
- Track and report on end-of-life workstations, implementing effective lifecycle management strategies.
- Manage LAN infrastructure, address connectivity issues, fix broken cables, and ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and maintain a robust internet backup plan to safeguard data security and integrity.
- Provide top-tier end-user support, resolving complex computer issues, connectivity challenges, and Office365 accounts.
What will help you be successful in the role:
- Proven and extensive experience as a Senior Workstation/End-user Support Engineer or in a comparable senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking systems, and a demonstrated ability to integrate networking functions seamlessly.
- Proficient in strategic management of computer purchases, setups, and hardware inventory.
- Expertise in executing regular hardware maintenance tasks, including defragmentation, Windows updates, and antivirus scans.
- Track record of effectively managing end-of-life computers and implementing strategic lifecycle solutions.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills, especially in resolving intricate connectivity issues for end-users.
- Familiarity with LAN maintenance, including fixing broken cables and proactively addressing connectivity challenges.
- Competence in developing and managing internet backup plans for robust data security.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective end-user support for complex computer issues and Office365 accounts.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, essential for handling various responsibilities within the elevated scope of the Care for Needs team.
