Senior Finance and Accounting Operations Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Finance and Accounting Operations Manager to oversee the finance functions for our Manila entity. This role involves managing key financial processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and leading the finance team to meet organizational goals. The position is critical in driving financial operations, managing audits, and overseeing tax requirements. Will also manage a team of 5 Accounting Associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the month-end close and forecast processes.
- Analyze financial variances and provide narratives to explain them.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax requirements with local authorities (e.g., BIR, SEC, PEZA, etc.).
- Lead the completion of the annual audit process in collaboration with external auditors.
- Track and assist with pending tax assessments and litigation under BIR, PEZA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audits, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive fiscal records to document financial transactions.
- Assist with periodic reporting to the Group Tax department and other internal stakeholders.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the finance team, fostering continuous professional development and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback to help team members achieve their professional goals.
- Ensure efficient use of resources while aligning with the company's organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a minimum of 7 years of proven experience in accounting roles such as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Philippines Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), IFRS, and US GAAP accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and financial databases.
- Experience with full-fledged ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) is advantageous, but not required.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets with strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong internal control knowledge.
- Communication & Leadership:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive change and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to inspire and lead teams, with strong leadership skills, as this role may involve managing additional finance staff in the future.
- Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when required, and maintain positive relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
