Job Description: Systems Integration Engineer
As ADI expands into new product and market segments, the
Power Solutions Team is looking for a motivated and skilled Systems Engineer who will be responsible for supporting ADI customers, Sales, FAE and Business units with designing power solutions (Reference Designs), based on application specifications, to resolve customer problems and winning against competition.
The candidate will review power applications at system level and define solutions which showcase ADI's value and performance, leveraging components across the entire power portfolio. The role will involve power supply architecture definition (block diagram), power tree simulations (LTspice and other tools), design of power boards and test (lab).
Extensive interwork with sales and FAE for customer inputs and business units for product guidance is expected, and eventually also customers facing activity to support specification review, simulations result and boards debug and operation, on top of specific technical trainings to sales, FAE and or customers.
Generation of technical documentation, as system application articles and notes, will also be part of the chart.
The optimal candidate would be proficient power supply designer, having the ability to analyze complex power solutions, excellent technical writing and presentation skills, a good proficiency of the English language and good listening skills to understand customer problems and articulate solutions proposals, from block diagram to tested PCB, while also assisting and support the transformation at customer from reference design into their productization of the ADI solution.
As a Power Solutions Systems Engineer, you will:
- Review system block diagrams and understand the power supply design requirements
- Provide support to sales and FAE on power system reference designs
- Ability to analyze and correct issues with customer redesigns starting from the reference
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Experience with the design and development of power systems (including hands-on activities for testing and debugging)
- Knowledge of several classes of controllers and converters, liner devices, protections, switches, to be refreshed continuously as soon as portfolio expands, and competition progresses
- Familiar with CAD environment for schematic and layout, ADI power tools for simulations such as LTSpice, LTPowerCAD and SPICE.
Requirements:
- Fundamentals of Power Electronics knowledge (topologies, magnetics, control).
- 5+ years of experience in board-level power supply design, or equivalent experience
- Component level analog circuit design, analysis, and debug
- Mixed signal PC board schematic and layout design techniques
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, interacting with customers and stakeholders
- Good communication skills and attitude to discuss in depth technical topics, from specification to behavior of circuit boards and systems
