Position: Senior Database AdministratorWe are looking for a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database systems.
Perform backups of the production database and demonstrate the ability to restore it, likely to our Staging environment.- Evaluate the feasibility of moving the database to AWS.
Collaborate with the team to create the necessary database infrastructure on AWS.
- Reinstall the production database with role-based authentication (e.g., admin, read-write, read-only).
Preferably perform this reinstallation on AWS, or if necessary, on Azure.- Assess the current AmmoReady database and provide recommendations for improvements.
Implement best practices for database management, performance tuning, and security.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Experience with database backup, restore, and migration processes.- Expertise in setting up role-based authentication for databases.
Ability to evaluate database systems and recommend improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Experience with Citus on Postgres or similar multi-cloud database solutions.- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with industry best practices for database security.
