SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead application & database setup, configuration, and implementation at the Main Data Center & Backup Recovery Center.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard database information and business user's data against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
- Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation & testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases.
- Plan and create Management Plans, Maintenance Scripts, Backup and recovery strategies for all databases.
- Review procedures in database management system manuals in the event there are changes to be done in the database.
- Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope & limitations.
- Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information in advising upper management.
- Manage Junior Database Administrators and their assigned tasks.
- Coordinate project implementation and monitor its progress.
- Organize and prepare systems documentation.
Qualifications
- Preferably graduate of BS Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or other IT related courses.
- At least 4 years of experience in database administration.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
- Knowledgeable in operating systems, such as Windows, RHEL, HP-UX, Oracle Linux or AIX.
