Civil Engineers and Architects
_- Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- I. Design Development Review
Reviews building plans, details and specifications with the Planning and Design Section, Project Proponent, Facilities and Utilities Group during the regular Technical Workshops / Design Plan Layering, to ensure project feasibility and to identify opportunities for value engineering, architecture and engineering optimization
- Develops a roadmap of project activities, deliverables, and timelines (i.e. Gantt chart/S-Curve), encompassing pre-construction, procurement, project implementation and turnover to aid construction efforts
Informs supervisor of result of design peer review and evaluation
Advises Central Purchasing Office (CPO) on eligibility of contractors in aid of pre-qualification and shortlisting of suppliers and contractors- Prepares and consolidates bidding requirements (e.g. bid documentation, approved plans, specifications, terms of reference, instruction to bidders, and project timelines)
Coordinates with CPO on pre-qualification and shortlisting of supplies/contractors, bidding activities, and schedules
- Advises participants in pre-bid conference and issues bid bulletins, plan revisions and other instruction to bidders
Reports on the technical evaluation, analysis, recommendation on bids and proposals with the Ateneo Project Team (APT)
- III. Pre-Construction and Mobilization
Leads pre-construction meetings with the project owner and stakeholders, conducts regular project progress reports based on the project timelines- Establishes project features, i.e. protocols and control parameters, reporting systems, and project meeting schedules
Informs winning contractor/suppliers of project brief
- Arranges for the payment of the contractor/suppliers down-payment requests, including evaluation of required bonds and insurances for approval of the Section Head
Implements project monitoring and control, including but not limited to the following:
- Manages contractors and suppliers to meet work and delivery schedules for manpower and equipment deployment, fabrication, and material and supplies deliveries
Controls quality of methods, procedures and workmanship of all contractors and suppliers, and, as warranted, discusses with the Planning and Design Section, and APT the interpretation of drawings, specifications, and other construction documents- Implements cost management and control of the project
Arranges for testing and commissioning (including pre-operational checks) trial runs and performance tests up to acceptance for its intended purpose, and familiarization procedures for owner or representatives
- Updates and oversees safekeeping of project records for turnover to the project owner, at the conclusion of the project
Monitors completion of activities in the punch list
- Reports on cost summaries and items for follow up and review to the APT during the post construction project evaluation
Evaluates technical documents of completed works (drawings, equipment manuals and other documents)- Transfers a) project information, documentation, warranties and DLP to the Post Construction and Building Care Group, and b) project records to the project owner
- Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor in Science in Engineering (Civil) and Architecture.
- At least 5 years experience managing construction projects (e.g. project management, cost control, contract management, with at least one project completed from ground to finish
