Primary FunctionA bookkeeper is a crucial service professional who helps businesses keep track of their finances. They work closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Their responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, managing invoices, tax and other government payments, and accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions. In addition to these tasks, a bookkeeper is also responsible for managing daily accounting tasks such as account reconciliation, cash receipts, and payroll. They play a vital role in ensuring that a business's finances are in order and that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Previous experience in handling AU clients and AU Bookkeeping is PREFERED
Document day to day financial transactions and complete the recording process
Perform daily bank reconciliation of corporate account
Regularly verify and maintain all transactions are recorded in the correct systems
Process Weekly Payroll, Fortnightly Payroll, and Fuel Reimbursements in a timely manner
Weekly preparation of invoices using Xero Data Management system
Monitoring and following up of accounts receivable to ensure payment
Regular checking and processing of bills and accounts payable to ensure the company is up to date with its obligations
Other tasks assigned by immediate superior and/or counterparts
General administration duties
Maintaining various registers
Scanning, filing and archiving
Stock take and ordering of office items
Collation of various manuals
- Desired Skills and Experience:
Proved 2-3 years experience in handling bookkeeping for AU Clients
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and focus- Able to work independently
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, trouble shoot, and improve current procedures
- Strong all-round Bookkeeping knowledge using Xero
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel- Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and data entry skills
Background in accounting and skilled in using Xero's full functionality across AR, AP, payroll, reporting, custom templates and activity statements.
- Technical accounting knowledge.
Attention to detail.- Maintain certification for Xero and QuickBooks Online.
Ability to build relationships with clients.
