GPC Philippines Corporation is currently seeking aSenior Bookkeeper. This position will workfrom 12:00 am to 8:00 AM PHT and appliesonly toPhilippine-based legal residents and citizens.

Work time will shift to better hours over time.

Job Description

The Senior Bookkeeper isan intelligent, flexible, business-minded individual with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping with a particular emphasis on categorizing transactions. The candidate's principal responsibility will be maintaining the Tensor Financial Master Merchant Directory. Using Tensor's proprietary software tools, the candidate will review transactions processed by the Tensor Financial system to ensure that transactions are properly categorized by client and industry and that exceptions are properly dispositioned. The candidate will be expected to learn a wide range of businesses and industries to ensure that they can categorize merchants correctly. Research skills, including online research, using the phone, and other common research techniques, will be essential to the daily success of the candidate. On a secondary basis, the candidate will operate the Tensor Financial platform on behalf of Tensor clients. This will include performing basic bookkeeping tasks (reconciliations, journal entries, etc.) and maintaining records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Tensor Financial Master Merchant Directory
  • Research merchants based on bank and credit card descriptors using online, telephone, and other techniques.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to financial processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:3-7years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Exceptional understanding of QuickBooks and available options/ categories and customizations.
  • Business-minded:
  • Able to understand the basic operation of different industries and how different merchants may fit within those industries
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience may be considered.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software/tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
