A Food and Beverage Senior Bartender must be knowledgeable about a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as mixology techniques, glassware, and garnishes. Preparing and serving beverages, creating and maintaining an inviting bar area, and providing excellent customer service to guests and to oversee the preparation of all beverages and drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as the presentation of drinks to customers. It is also expected to follow all health and safety guidelines, including maintaining personal hygiene, ensuring food is stored properly, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers: Bartenders should greet customers warmly and take their drink orders (when required) and answering any questions they may have about the menu.
- Managing the bar staff: The Senior Bartender is responsible for hiring and training new bar staff, as well as supervising and scheduling them to ensure smooth bar operations.
- Preparing and serving drinks: The Senior Bartender must have knowledge of different cocktails, wines, spirits, and beer, and be able to prepare them efficiently and creatively. They must also be able to ensure that drinks are served at the correct temperature and in the appropriate glassware.
- Maintaining inventory: The Senior Bartender must maintain a record of all stock, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware. They must also order new stock as needed and ensure that inventory is properly rotated to prevent waste.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations: The Senior Bartender must ensure that all drinks are served in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including age restrictions and responsible serving practices.
- Managing customer service: The Senior Bartender must ensure that customers are provided with excellent service and that all complaints and issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Developing new drinks: The Senior Bartender may be responsible for developing new and innovative drink recipes that appeal to customers and keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Handling cash and transactions: The Senior Bartender must handle all cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, and ensure that all receipts and records are properly maintained.
- Adhering to safety standards: required to adhere to safety standards and regulations when handling alcohol and other beverages.
- Learning and following company policies: learn and follow the company policies and procedures, including those related to dress code, attendance, and customer service standards.
- Handle and dispose of food waste and garbage according to established procedures.
- Attend training sessions to learn new skills and improve existing ones.
Qualifications
- Min HSSC pass, diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in food service or hospitality may be preferred.
- Min experience of years in F & B Service
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, including hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Strong physical stamina, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skill with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Overall, the role of a Food and Beverage Senior Bartender should be personable, and able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Senior Bartender must have excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to work well under pressure, and be able to lead and motivate a team. They must also have a thorough understanding of all relevant laws and regulations regarding alcohol service and be able to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
