Role Overview
The Senior Back-End Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and infrastructure of 3 Dot Digital's technology products and services. Reporting to the Chief Software Architect, this role involves working with a range of programming languages and databases, building APIs, working with infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS) and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. The selected individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Back-End Development: Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, and Python.
- Database Management: Manage and optimize both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- API Development: Build and maintain robust APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party integrations.
- Cloud Services: Deploy and manage applications on AWS; familiarity with other cloud platforms is an advantage.
- Serverless Technologies: Utilise serverless architectures where appropriate to enhance scalability and reduce costs.
- Code Quality and Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following strong coding standards, including CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring applications are optimized for speed and scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in back-end development.
- Extensive experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, and Python.
- Strong experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining APIs.
- AWS expertise is a must; familiarity with other cloud platforms is an advantage.
- Knowledge of networking and related technologies like CloudFlare will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of serverless technologies is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience delivering real-world projects.
