We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, including report generation, user administration, timesheet preparation, invoice processing, bank and credit card reconciliation, and much more. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Generate and analyze toll and fuel reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and review approval analysis reports, providing insights and recommendations.
Manage and report on job code splits, ensuring accurate cost allocation.- Manage DEXT user accounts, permissions, and troubleshoot issues.
Prepare timesheets for pay-run, liaise with the HR team regarding staff leave balances, and monitor the timesheet approval process.
- Process Bunnings card, fuel card, and monthly toll and fuel invoices, including cost analysis and credit card reconciliation.
Handle user accounts and permissions in ApprovalMax, ensuring efficient workflow management.- Perform regular bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain expense accounts in the Chart of Accounts and job cost centres.
- Manage invoicing for training and medical expense reimbursements and conduct monthly supplier statement reconciliation.
Supervise and support accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.- Process employee expense claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Process standard month-end journals and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Manage fixed assets processing and reconciliation.- Support project reporting preparation as required.
Liaise with auditors as necessary and assist in reporting and compliance matters.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
