Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Accountant at Unified Global. The role involves managing financial reports, conducting audits, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial planning and supporting the growth of various businesses.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities and ensure team members are on track during close
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure optimum process and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX narratives through detailed review of journal entries, reconciliations and SOX controls
- Ensure deadlines and controls are met in accordance with our policies and procedures
- Manage proper deliverables to external auditor on annual audits and quarterly reviews
- Actively participate in the monthly variance analysis, management reporting, GAAP reporting, and other ad-hoc projects
- Lead internal audit engagements
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
- Secures financial information by completing database backups
- Protects organization's value by keeping information
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and more than seven of experience in finance or accounting or a related area
- Big 4 experience and/or CPA preferred
- General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
- 7+ of progressive accounting experience with a portion in a supervisory role
- Experience with NetSuite is a must
- Extensive knowledge of revenue recognition U.S. GAAP
- Experience developing financial reports and metrics
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
- Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
