Our Client provides bespoke financial and strategic advisory services to high-growth venture-backed startups. Serving as an outsourced finance department, we work closely with founders and executive leadership to deliver world-class financial operations including financial planning and analysis, full-service accounting, business intelligence, business model development, fundraising strategy and execution, board and investor relations, strategic thought-partnership and decision-making support.
Our clients range from Pre-Seed to Series C and are developing disruptive products across industries including healthtech, greentech, and robotics; more and more are backed by world-class investors such as A16Z, Khosla Ventures, Tiger Global, Eclipse, Crosslink Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, ENIAC, Pathbreaker, and Y Combinator among many others. Our clients have raised over $100M in early-stage venture capital in the past six months alone.
Responsibilities:
Manage and perform all aspects of A/P and A/R for clients
Perform all aspects of Clients month end close: reconcile accounts, book Journal Entries, ensure accuracy of financial statements
Think strategically and suggest ways we can add efficiencies, improve/automate processes and systems
Ensure GAAP compliance
Perform payroll
Prepare and provide various financial reports to clients
Assist with tax requests, audit requests, and other compliance needs
Collaborate with Venture CFO and Controller across client needs
Qualifications:
Consistently available at least 20 hours/week to dedicate to TSQ clients
3+ years of experience in a similar position
CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of US GAAP
Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Google platforms, and other software applications such as Quickbooks, Netsuite, Bill.com/Airbase, Divvy, Expensify, and payroll platforms
Solid, self-motivated planning and organization skills; ability to handle concurrent tasks, meet deadlines and accurately communicate progress
Excellent verbal/written communication skills which allows you to respond and inquire effectively, communicate cross-organizationally with TSQ personnel and client-management (is comfortable with a client-service mentality)
Ability to build relationships
Must be a team player and act cooperatively with TSQ client contacts, Venture CFO's and Controllers.
