Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the end-to-end accounting process for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will play a key role in managing financial operations, preparing financial statements, and supporting the month-end closing process. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Accounting:
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Generate and distribute financial reports to management, providing insights into financial performance and variances.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing:
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Review journal entries and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Audit Coordination:
- Prepare documentation and support external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Address audit inquiries and implement any necessary changes based on audit findings.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the accounting department and implement best practices to improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring timely adjustments to accounting practices.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Atleast 6 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in end-to-end accounting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
