Requirements
Roles and responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage individual and business accounting tasks, including GST and income tax compliance, in an Australian context. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations. This role requires the ability to manage multiple clients, perform complex financial analyses, and provide insightful financial advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with Australian standards
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
- Serve as the main point of contact for Australian clients to ensure smooth daily operations
- Manage Australian tax obligations, including Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and payroll tax
- Communicate with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on tax-related matters
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GST and income tax in Australia
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB) and MS Office Suite
- Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
