Our Segment Marketing Leader are expected to work closely with Regional Segment Leads & Country Leader and play a strategic role in developing impactful marketing strategy that is aligned to the regional strategy.
The success of this role will rely largely on your ability to execute segment-led initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify meaningful opportunities that will improve brand presence within the market.
You will also be expected to inspire your analysts to meet BD's Way of Marketing through leading and innovative practices.

Position Summary

Our Segment Marketing Leader are expected to work closely with Regional Segment Leads & Country Leader and play a strategic role in developing impactful marketing strategy that is aligned to the regional strategy. The success of this role will rely largely on your ability to execute segment-led initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify meaningful opportunities that will improve brand presence within the market. You will also be expected to inspire your analysts to meet BD's Way of Marketing through leading and innovative practices.

Key Responsibilities:


  • In-country Marketing Strategy Development

    Translate regional marketing strategy into country specific strategy (e.g., product launches, marketing campaigns, customer campaigns, solution concepts, etc.) with a focus on customer needs and packaging complementary products as holistic solutions

  • In-country Marketing Strategy Execution

    Lead and execute intra segment marketing initiatives and programmes
    Manage the BD brand amongst external stakeholders and ensure differentiation against competition

  • Drive the BD Way of Marketing

    Work collaboratively with the SEA Marketing Manager to develop and implement best practices in brand marketing and product development
    Include use of BD Way of Marketing in the development of best practices

  • Provide Analytical, Data-Driven Insights

    Drive regular analytics and insights into the local market and customers
    Conduct competitive research

  • Management of Clinical Resources

    Provide input on allocation / deployment of clinical resources
    Leverage on the BD Way of Marketing to ensure teams are engaging customers in a standardised way

  • Building Strategic Partnership across Interdependent Teams

    Develop strategic relationships with high value stakeholders / interdependent teams (e.g., Regional Marketing Counterparts)
    Lead and manage dependencies with interdependent team functions

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications:


    The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and knowledge of the clinical and life sciences markets and a demonstrated ability to lead, grow and develop diverse teams.

    Experience in marketing strategy planning through to execution and leading teams in the Medical Device industry
    5+ years of experience in healthcare and 3+ years in pharmaceutical marketing
    Bachelor's Degree in Science, Pharmacy or related science is required, and an MBA is preferred

    Expected Skills and Behaviours

    Proven track record in leading marketing strategies across pipelines, strategic partnerships, and teams
    Experience with Medical Segment
    Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
    Exemplifies entrepreneurial growth mindset to support teams in the field and nurture fast growing customer bases
    Delivers a clear, compelling, and shared marketing vision focused on delighting our customers
    Cultivates and nurtures an open, transparent, and psychologically safe environment
    Empowers teams through targeted coaching, delegation of responsibilities and actively removing barriers to high performance
    Self-motivated individual who thrives on innovation and is results-oriented
    Excellent command of English (i.e., written and spoken)
