POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Enterprise Data & Analytics Portfolio Manager, the scrum master will guide in Scrum and the organization on how to best utilize Agile/SAFe scrum practices.
- Optimize your squads to get the most out of self-organization, while filling in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks as a Servant-Leader
- Remove impediments and guide the team to remove project blockers independently
- Promote a safe environment where issues can be raised, with an emphasis on problem-solving and effective and efficient execution and delivery.
- Improve transparency and information dissemination through frequent internal and external communication of key metrics such as burn down and velocity.
- Support product owners, especially on prioritization, escalation and grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Lead product increment planning, scrum of scrum ceremonies and sprint planning in general.
- Guide your squads toward continuous improvement through leadership, communication, collaboration, commitment, and dedication with some healthy competitiveness
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Multiple scrum squads/teams in effectively utilizing the Agile / SAFe methodology and scrum best practices
- Foster a culture of collaboration, clear communication, transparency and organization and structure for all development team objectives
- Identify and removes impediments the development teams face, escalate when necessary, manage expectations up and down, encourage constant backlog grooming and provide exceptional metrics and status reporting for leadership
- Help product owners and development teams exceed customer expectations through planning, deliverable and timeline clarity, managing deadlines and picking up the ball if someone drops it
- Work with stakeholders / product owners to ensure all user stories are fully vetted and include all necessary requirements and acceptance criteria
- Work with stakeholders / product owners to effectively prioritize user stories and formally plan sprints, conducts scrum of scrums, product increment planning and other activities required to ensure resources are properly allocated
- Hold regular sprint reviews, retrospectives and other ceremonies, to demonstrate finished work to stakeholders and to celebrate team achievements
- Lead and support a culture of continuous process improvement through sprint retrospectives and detailed metrics analysis
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant field
- 3 or more years of related work experience as a Scrum Master working in Agile Scrum or SAFe environments, plus 5 or more years working as a program or project manager working with traditional waterfall techniques and tools
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful agile techniques and software development best practices, including processes and procedures and technologies in the Analytics & BI spaces
- Applicable knowledge of and experience utilizing the technologies and tools utilized by Tenet: ServiceNow, MS Planner, etc.
- Previous experience as a patient team lead with excellent coaching and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including effective negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement
- Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to communicate with a broad set of constituencies, both technical and non-technical, up and down
- Ability to enthusiastically and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Collaborative, customer-focused and able to create and demonstrate visible value for the organization
- Out-Spoken, self-starter with experience progressing a portfolio of products, programs, projects, enhancements and supporting BAU/KTLO efforts, with limited direction
