Job Description: Technical Support Specialist for SCCM
General description:
The Technical Support Specialist for SCCM is within IT Operations team. This position consists of delivering Microsoft Windows configuration and administration. Possesses technical skills and experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance for SCCM infrastructure. Has a broad knowledge base covering software and client performance tools like SCCM platform, responsible for Applications packaging, Patching, Hardware drivers update and Windows client operating systems deployment.
Responsibilities of the Technical Support Specialist include but not limited to:
- Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and all supporting backend tools such as SCCM, content management, and distribution, desktop monitoring/selfservice and improve efficiency with performance tuning.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities; ability to focus on timely and efficient resolution and ability to realize when to escalate if required.
- Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning.
- Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system files and services. Ensures changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommends revisions or changes based upon results.
- Coordinates with application managers and project managers to ensure managed system changes are to meet business requirements.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as per business needs.
- Ensure and manage the full lifecycle of knowledge articles related to end-user computing such as identification of needed articles, updates to existing articles and help improve the overall knowledge management area
- Collaborate with operations to address highly complex issues and proactively improve infrastructure.
Skills and Attributes:
- Deep and hands-on expertise in Microsoft System Center Configuration manager (SCCM) which includes Planning, Designing, Implementation, Administration, Inventory management, Application deployments etc.)
- Excellent skills in Software packaging, Deployment, Patching, and Report monitoring.
- Proficient in setting up SCCM Servers, Distribution Servers, and Site Servers.
- Extensive experience with WSUS and Patch Management using SCCM.
- Scripting knowledge (e.g.PowerShell, VB, and batch scripts)
- Knowledge and understanding of SQL queries
- Creates, maintains, and deploys Windows 10/11 Base Images
- Strong troubleshooting mindset.
- Diagnose, identify, isolate, and analyze problems throughout the environment
- Troubleshooting and automation of client patching remediation issues
- Basic experience in Active Directory, Group Policies, Networking, DNS, and virtual desktop technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft Services and Products (Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft 365 apps, etc.)
- Knowledge around web browsers (Edge, Chrome, Internet Explorer and the likes) and their configuration.
- Experience working in a service management ticketing tool
- Intune experience is a plus
- Installation of SCCM environment and recovery is a plus
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Degree in IT or similar education
- Highly IT literate (IT drivers)
- Fluent in English oral and written
- Understanding of the set of IT Services provided to enterprises by a global IT organization and the IT infrastructure technologies that supports and enables them.
