SAP Basis Application Engineer will be at the forefront to perform end-to-end administration, design, and consultation for maintaining availability and reliability of our SAP landscape. Responsible in building the foundational platform, deploying SAP products and features, and ensures that SAP systems run efficiently with the goal of aligning with business needs.
As an SAP Basis Application Engineer, you will be assigned to the team in-charge of managing SAP instances in the Azure Cloud including application integration and performance tuning.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure reliability and availability of SAP Applications.
- Configure SAP to maximize system performance and availability. Perform SAP sizing, performance monitoring and tuning as required.
- Perform Routine System administration tasks such as user management, system backups and system upgrades.
- Skilled in applying standards and best practices for SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver and related SAP products as well as interfaces with other related systems and underlying database technologies.
- Support operations and maintenance of multi-landscape environments through coordination of work related to system upgrades, system outages, system refreshes, release and change management.
- Responsible for gathering system requirements through collaboration with the engineering, architecture, and application teams to enable applications to run on SAP and Azure infrastructure.
- Communicate SAP environment changes, advisories, availability and activities to partners and stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
- SAP technical team point of contact for incidents and requests.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify problem resolution of various system related issues.
- Employ analytical thinking to gather and understand stakeholder requirements regarding the build and/or decommissioning of SAP environments.
- Cross-train on various business software applications and infrastructure used at the company. Expand knowledge of company's business.
- Participate in Business Continuity Planning / Disaster Recovery Exercises.
- Perform Audit and IRM related activities.
Requirements
- Deep technical knowledge and experience in SAP BASIS Administration spanning across S/4, ECC, CFIN, MDG, SLT, BODS, Solution Manager, and HANA Database.
- Experience in installations/ Upgrades/ Migrations of SAP Application/NetWeaver Suite and S/4 HANA.
- Experience in the following: Fiori administration, Business function/set activation, integration with 3rd party applications, SOAMANAGER, and CTS+.
- Good understanding of compliance, security audits, and remediation.
- Experience with different Cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Has experience with other database technology and/or SQL Server, LINUX, and/or Windows Server technologies.
