Job Summary:The Sales Manager is responsible for meeting the sales targetsof the organization through effective planning and budgeting.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Business Goals and Achievement
Plans sales trips, under the direct approval of Director of Sales & Marketing to major market areas, calling on accounts within his / her specific market areas. Reports to Director of Sales on potential markets needing coverage.
- Provides feedback to the Director of Sales and Marketing on changing market conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone calls in his / her market areas.
Report Generation- Submits weekly sales summary and reports.
Submits sales report within seven (7) days after each sales trip.
- Submits quarterly performance report on top accounts.
Maintains an updated record on all accounts.- Submits liquidation reports within set policy on deadlines.
Communication
- Disseminates sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
Participates in weekly marketing / sales meeting.- Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone, fax, telex, contracts, and written communications.
Attends all pre-conference meetings, as required and arrange by the Events Management Department.
- Attends all post - conference meetings, as required and arranged by the Events Management Department and assists in the preparation of post-conference reports, as required.
Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.- Ensures that all enquiries are responded promptly within 24 hours.
Service Delivery / Customer Service - Provide exceptional service Identify guests needs and wants.
Ensure the effective hiring, training and role development of team members.- Provides guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Sets goals and expectations for team members using the performance review process and holds them accountable for successful performance.
Ensure that Sales Target met and exceed. (Rooms/ Spa and Banquet)- Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, implementing field sales action plans.
Keep abreast with the competitors and recommend how we move forward.
- Recommend rates that would best sell the properties based on the feedback gathered form clients.
Initiate market awareness with Corporate, TA, Associations and Organizations.- Maximize all Conference & Events revenue opportunities.
Identify target markets and high paying accounts.
Educational requirement - Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or any related course
- Experience required - at least three (3) years of relevant Sales experience, particularly in the hotel/hospitality industry
Skills - Hotel operations knowledge, sales knowledge, Marketing and promotions, knowledge in handling Corporate and Government accounts, knowledge in vital industry Sales Proposal and Contracts, experience in Sales activities / Exhibits
