Job Description

Reporting to: Catering & Events Manager, Business Development & Operations Manager

Job Description:


Acting as a point of contact between customers and companies

Negotiating terms of sales and agreements and closing sales with customers

Gathering market and customer information to figure out the customer needs

Responding to customer queries and resolving their objections to get them to make a purchase

Advising product developers on improvements to include in forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions

Creating proposal documents as part of the formal bidding procedure

Providing customers with detailed and accurate quotations and cost calculations

Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients (corporate or individuals), vendors and venues

Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities

Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones

Coordinating and planning event details and aspects, including set-up, menu, guests, and other requirements

Creating reliable financial reports and collecting payments on time

Remaining under budget with all costs

Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise

Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event

Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events

Qualifications

College graduate, with a degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or project management

With at least 1-2 years of experience in Events, Catering, Sales and/or Business Development, preferably in food and beverage establishment, catering company or hotel events

Great negotiation and presentation skills

Personable with good communication and interpersonal skills

Team player
