A construction Sales Engineer is in charge of selling and supports a company's sales team to supply construction equipment, products, and services to individuals and construction contractors. They'll need to provide customer service to clients and businesses, as well as establish vendor relations with manufacturers and other suppliers. Administrative tasks generally include managing customer accounts and updating customer information, such as contact and billing methods.
As a Sales Engineer, they'll also establish budgetary restrictions and measure costs for all of a company's projects. In the sales aspect of the profession, they need to propose marketing and promotions campaigns, perform demonstrations, maintain inventory, and establish procurement policies. They'll need to research and be familiar with new construction technologies and equipment, ensure the company's services comply with state and federal regulations and provide written reports on all aspects of the sales department.
