Safety Officer

Safety Officer Job Responsibilities:

• Compile safety programs

Practice safe working techniques

• Implement and maintain health and safety standards

Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees

• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations

Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques

• Standardize health and safety to remain consistent

Identify hazardous waste and dispose of it correctly

• Promote safety initiatives

Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance

• Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management

Regularly inspect equipment

• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs

Work with HR to set up a new employee onboarding process for safety

• Adhere to all the rules and regulations

Conduct risk assessment

• Safety Officer Job Qualifications:

BA bachelor's degree or an associate degree

Valid competency certificates

Registered as a Health and Safety Officer (COSH)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and educate employees on safety protocols

Analytical skills to assess workplace hazards and risks, and to develop strategies for mitigating them

Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations

Computer literacy to maintain safety records and documentation and proficiency in all Microsoft Applications

Minimum of 2 years experience in the same position
