Implement occupational safety and health programs in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS).
Frequently monitor and inspect any safety and health aspect of the construction work being undertaken. Shall also assist government inspectors in the conduct of safety and health inspection at any time whenever work is being performed or during the conduct of accident investigation.
Initiate and supervise the conduct of brief safety meetings or tool box meetings every day.
Prepares Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for every start of work as necessary. Initiates preparation of work permits and LOTO whenever necessary
Ensures that all works and activities are in accordance with the H&S rules and regulations. Coordinates immediately with the Project Management Team on any observed work hazards and unsafe practices or violations that can cause accidents or near miss or harm to other worker
Coordinates with other Safety Officer/s in implementing safety rules at project sites. Reports to the assigned Safety Practitioner any safety related matters regularly
Gathers data for safety and health i.e. no. of safe man-hours and lost time injury (LTI) and etc. / acts in the job site
Prepares and submits Weekly Health and Safety Report with regards to HSE for every project site visit.
Conducts investigation of accident/incident. Submits reports to Safety Committee for corrective action
Initiates proper disposal of wastes & segregation at project Site. Initiates adherence to environmental regulations and policies.
Provides assistance to Quality Assurance activities at job site where applicable which includes testing and commissioning works, inspections, subcontractor monitoring & trainings etc. Helps in setting out standards and final control at project sites.
Checks, gathers and inputs data for evaluation and control at jobsite which includes actual tests results, material quality, and subcontractor performance & safety undertakings.
Provides advice to the construction team for preventive actions.
Conducts scheduled safety meeting for sub-contractors.
Conducts pre-construction safety meeting to discuss safety requirements.
Conducts safety orientation for newly hired workers.
Coordinates the preparation of identification cards and requirements for the workers such as (NBI clearance, Drug test results and bio-data) before deployment at the project site.
Follows/Observes Division's Work Instructions. Ensures consistent adherence to the ISO/IMS operating procedures and guidelines.
Identifies, records or reports to Safety Head any non-conformances or problems relating to the implementation of the projects. Initiates or recommends solutions to any non-conformances encountered to ensure customers delight.
Observes rules and policies of the Company, which of the clients and/or other agencies involved on the business operations of the company.
Participates actively in Company-imposed trainings, work conferences, tool box meetings, work improvement programs, quality circles, productivity and cost efficiency endeavors, housekeeping and the like.
Assists the superior in the periodic review of Risk Assessments for Quality Management System and also ensures that the roles and responsibilities in respect of risk management are fully understood.
Performs other official duties as may be assigned from time to time.
College Graduate with background in BOSH, COSH, LCM (Loss Control Management) and First Aid Training with at least 2 years experience.
