The position holder will assist the environmental, Health and Safety Officer in the activities for renewable energy plants which includes solar rooftop & ground mounted installations, bioenergy, battery & cooling solutions, and other Energy-as-a-Service solutions offered by BECIS.
The Project Safety Officer will work closely with project managers. Primary reporting line will be to BECIS Philippines Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.

Job Description:
The Employee's responsibility in this position will be focused on the following:
Support and manage in the HSE policy and guidelines issue and keep it in conformity with the customer's requirements and industry best practice
Assess various safety hazards and determine the likelihood of an incident occurring
Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate environment, health and safety system procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and the customer's directive.
Perform frequent surprise site visits to check the site standards and necessary documents
Monitoring of site to check weather all vendors and staff are following the standards
Shall make regular reports regarding the system performance and new development
Shall educate the environment, health, and safety systems users about the correct way of using these systems
Conduct safety audits both internal and external
Provide technical support to management on any safety related subject
Coordinates and assists Project Manager with Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions and Preventive Action and monitor its effectiveness
Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identify trends and suggest improvement plans
Shall be responsible for development, installing, maintaining, and upgrading environment, health, and safety system
Assess the risk involved in working on the system and work upon reducing it
Supervise the high-risk activities.
Shall stay updated with the knowledge about the latest techniques and work as per them
Shall be responsible for providing quality system
Needs to see to it that new standards are adopted
Shall guide site team on promotional and awareness program to drive effective safety culture
Shall verify effective implementation of Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's), HIRA, EIA etc. at site and shall coordinate with management on improvement on it.
To verify compliance as per the standards and applicable regulations
Shall develop and maintain site documentation such as risk assessment, SOP's, work instructions, training material, etc.
Collaboration with other internal teams to ensure successful implementation of BECIS projects
The contractual will occasionally be involved in various duties outside of their usual scope of work.
Requirements and Qualifications
Proven experience as Safety Officer 3
At least two (2) years of experience in OSH - Solar & Construction.
Must have completed the 40-hour Construction Occupational Safety and Health Training Course
Must have additional 48 hours of advanced/specialized OSH training at a DOLE-accredited training facility
Preferred Certified First Aider
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solving & decision makingSelf-starter and proactive ability to work independently with less supervision
Ability to travel as and when required Experience
Must be willing to be assigned in project sites
