Position: Researcher

The researcher applicant must...- have at least an undergraduate degree preferably in Economics, Finance, or any related field;- have excellent command of English in both oral and written form;- be knowledgeable in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation;- be computer literate in various Microsoft Office applications, particularly basic and intermediate functions in Excel;- be familiar and knowledgeable to read and analyze financial data;- be healthy enough to work under pressure of daily deadlines and rapidly changing conditions in the field; and- be willing to work long hours including weekends and holidays.

• JOB DESCRIPTION- start the day reading all newspapers, news sites, and other credible sources to familiarize oneself to the relevant issues of the day;- cover official release of government/nongovernment statistical data and/or reports as well as conduct interviews with industry sources and analysts to ascertain latest developments and trends;- pitch infographic materials sourced from various international and local publications on a daily basis;- work on flagship publications Quarterly Banking Reports and _BusinessWorld Top 1000 Corporations in the Philippines_ (data gathering, interviewing sources, and writing articles);- provide data and analytics support to the Editorial department and other tasks assigned by the Research Head; and- can serve as a reliever temporarily for reporters to help cover certain beats/assignments.
