Job Summary- JRC is looking for a research scientist in the field of microbiology. The candidate will work on microbial strain isolation and characterization, microbial challenge assays, and microbial fermentation projects to develop food and agricultural products.
Plan and lead research projects with the JRC team
Develop and perform microbial challenge assays for JRC clients
Isolate and characterize industrially-relevant microbial strains
Establish accreditation and certification for the lab to comply with industry standards
Conduct scientific literature reviews, IP landscape studies, and market research
Work with external collaborators from academe and industry
Conduct basic laboratory work (sterilization, reagent, and media preparation, maintenance of microbial culture, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment)
Document protocols and analyze results
Write and present scientific reports and project proposals
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
BSc degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines
Preferred: registered microbiologist (RMicro) from the Philippine Academy of Microbiology
Hands-on wet-lab experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques
Hands-on experience with bioinformatics
Good laboratory documentation and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
