The Role : Research Associate, Associate Research Analyst, Base/Battery /Ferrous Metals

In this dynamic role, you will gather content relating to metal market supply and demand components concentrating on ferrous or non-ferrous metals, battery materials, or other critical minerals , analyzing this data to produce insightful forward-looking research.

The Career Opportunity: In this role you will be part of a highly motivated and growing global group of analysts further expanding our footprint in the commodity space. Situated within the wider team, you will raise your presence as an authority on various aspects of the commodity supply chain. You will get exposure to product development across teams, work with experienced analysts on all aspects of the value chain, as well as gain experience on a range of other traded commodities. This will be a great platform for you to continue to grow and broaden your value professionally as either a contributing analyst , and where experience merits, as a go to contact among international media and our client base.

The Team / The Business : Our Commodity Briefing Service team provides in-depth expert insight into the metals and mining sector. Able to leverage off an unsurpassed level of experience and data , from worldwide exploration, development and production to strategic planning and acquisitions activity - this group delivers reliable, unbiased research and analysis drawn directly from extensive industry contacts, global news and other information sources. Our high-quality products and services help clients identify , benchmark and value new business opportunities, monitor competitors and market trends, and act on strategies more confidently and efficiently.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will be keen to start their career as an analyst focused on ferrous or non-ferrous metals, battery materials, or other critical minerals , be educated to degree level or above , and have an enthusiastic and keen approach to learn ing and develop ing on their existing knowledge of commodity market s . Previous e xperience as an analyst or in building supply/demand and price forecasting models will be advantageous .

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to:

Modelling end-sector supply/demand for a commodity's supply chain.

Assessing impacts of energy transition efforts on future demand.

Researching, analyzing, and publishing commentary on topical events pertinent to metals & mining markets.

Assisting workflows to ensure r egular publishing and production. of reports.

Communication on and defense of your work to clients.

Some business travel as required.

Qualifications:


Recent graduate or 1-2 years experience as an analyst in the metals or mining space, preferably with direct exposure to other commodities as well.

Understanding of environmental, social and governance concerns pertinent to the mining industry.

Degree educated, for example including geology, mining finance, engineering, chemical disciplines, economics, or business.

Advanced MS Excel Skills.

Solid numeric analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Familiarity with VBA, and SQL and/or Python programming language.
