ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Reports to QA/QC & R&D Manager as immediate superior.
- Responsible in the supervision of R&D Team and ensure proper preparation of laboratory counter sample subject to the identified product attributes referred to in the Product Specification in coordination with Sales and QA/QC Manager for approval of the Product Development Committee and eventual submission to intended customer.
- Responsible in product improvement by changing product formulation, product process, or product packaging as approved by Product Development Committee.
- Coordinates directly with Purchasing on the approval of ingredients and packaging materials from new supplier.
- Responsible in presenting and submitting monthly progress reports on the status of new product and/or product improvement to the Product Development Committee.
- Maintains adequate records of all observed data for reference and product costing.
- Assists Laboratory Analyst by acting as Panelist with regards to:
- Sensory evaluation of existing products and new products
- Product matching tests which involve inspection and checks on incoming new raw materials, quality changes of finished products during storage.
- Grading and standardization of incoming materials
- Sample preparation (new products)
- Other duties relating to QA functions:
- Randomly checks implementation of new process procedures and standards
- Degree in Food Technology, BS Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other related course
- Preferably with 2-3 years experience in research and product development in a food manufacturing firm.
