Research Analyst: Infrastructure Projects Data
Sightline Climate accelerates the deployment of climate tech solutions through industry-leading data, analytics, and research. Sightline's subscription intelligence platform gives investors, corporates, and governments the insights they need to confidently build and finance the new climate economy. Sightline Climate also produces CTVC, the industry-leading newsletter read by 60,000 climate leaders.
We're looking for Research Analysts to support Sightline with infrastructure projects data research (e.g. geothermal power generation, green cement production, new grid technologies deployment). As climate tech project build-out accelerates, knowing what is being deployed on the ground is more important than ever. In this role, you'll be tracking infrastructure projects as they are built through data collection and maintenance. You'll also work closely with research team members on assigned climate tech sectors.
The Role
- Project-level data collection For an assigned sector, collect and conduct web research on project data points such as:
- Description
- Quantitative metrics (power capacity, storage capacity, etc.)
- Progress and milestone dates
- Key participants
- Contracts-level data collection Collect and identify supply and offtake contracts for project inputs and outputs.
- Dataset maintenance Update and edit project data by managing Sightline's in-house web scraping tools, public sources, and news events.
- Research assistance Assist the research team with deep dives on specific requests and other data-driven tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, accounting, environmental engineering).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail meticulous with data handling and collection.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in and excitement for learning new climate technologies and innovations.
- Desire to thrive in an early-stage startup environment and constantly learn new datasets and processes.
- Willing to work in a hybrid setup of 3 days in the office in Taguig City and 2 days from home; Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Manila Time.
A Plus
- Familiarity with infrastructure project development or physical/real assets development (terminology, processes, stages).
- Working understanding of climate tech sectors experience in the industry or having taken relevant courses/modules.
- Experience contributing to project development such as field assessments or surveys.
- Previous experience analyzing permits, project plans, compliance documents, and contracts.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured data sets.
