Job Overview:
We are seeking a Rent Collection Coordinator to support our team in collecting outstanding rental payments. In this role, you will work closely with our site team to engage with residents who have delinquent accounts. This position requires someone who is both resilient and professional, capable of handling challenging conversations with diplomacy and confidence. Your primary tasks will include reaching out to tenants via phone calls and emails, following up on overdue payments, and documenting interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delinquency Follow-Up: Reach out to residents with overdue payments through phone calls and emails, encouraging timely resolution
- Tenant Communication: Professionally and empathetically manage conversations with tenants, maintaining a calm and firm approach, even in challenging interactions
- Report Management: Utilize the delinquency report provided by the site team, tracking and updating payment status and tenant responses
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of all tenant communications and payment agreements within our management systems
- Escalation: Escalate any non-responsive accounts or complex cases to the site team for further action as needed
- Compliance: Ensure all interactions are conducted in line with our property management policies and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in rent collection, customer service, or collections-related roles, preferably within property management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism in difficult conversations
- Resilient demeanor: Ability to handle potentially negative interactions with tenants firmly and professionally
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail for record-keeping
- Familiarity with property management software and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in using AppFolio/Yardi.
