Main Job Description with Duties & Responsibilities:
The main functions of the Raw Material Specialist are (a) to review existing raw material technical and operational processes and establish raw material quality and food safety standards, specifications and procedures; (b) to create implementation and process turnover activities for material quality and food safety verification procedures; (d) to determine effectiveness of the quality and food safety system through analyzing and evaluation results of performed verification procedures; and (e) to ensure continuous improvement of the quality and food safety systems in alignment with business with business in alignment with business, operation, departmental and food safety objectives. The position is also entails to be become abreast to current trends in technologies and innovations related to raw materials.
Duties:
1. Having the knowledge on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), relevant quality and food safety checks and production processes of sauces in bottles and flexible pouches, dry blend mixes, fruit syrups, rice kits, geli-coolers, mung bean soup mix and other product categories, document and establish raw materials quality and food safety descriptions, standards, specifications and/or handling procedures that are compatible to the required monitoring and implementation of operation's process users.
2. Equipped with knowledge on Statistical Process Control tools and with active participation in any product development standardization and raw material improvement projects in the operations, standardize and establish raw materials quality and foos safety procedures, standards and specifications for the reference of the quality laboratory and the operations.
3. Guided by applicable established raw material descriptions, mandatory technical document requirements to suppliers, technical specification provided by R&D and process of evaluating new materials through Material Sample Evaluation System (MSES.mdb), evaluate new and alternative materials ensuring compliance to set parameters and standards. Communicate any changes in raw materials standards and specifications to concerned functions.
4. Having the knowledge on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and FSSC 22000 requirements, perform risk assessment and hazard identification for raw materials, in reference to applicable regulatory, statutory and organizational standards.
5. Having the experience in designing and conducting training and/or transferring of knowledge and technical-know how, plan and implement effective hand shake activities, seminars and/or training for any established raw materials standards, specifications and/or procedures.
6. Having the awareness on the requirements of the established Food Safety Management System and applicable regulatory, statutory, institutional or organizational standards, implement monitoring and verification activities for any established raw material quality and food safety standards, specifications and procedures. These includes review of raw material internal external test results, review of supplier documents and certifications, onsite standard and procedure verification, etc.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or Food Science
With at least 2 years of experience in food manufacturing industry specific to establishing standard procedures and reference specifications that will ensure high quality control product and/or process outputs
Has knowledge in different quality assurance and quality control processes and prerequisite program requirements in a food manufacturing set up with food safety objective. Has knowledge on HACCP and FSSC requirements is a plus.
Detail-oriented who has passion for continuous learning and acquiring knowledge with exceptional leadership skills, Must have good verbal and written communication skills, Integrity and professional ethic with solid analytical and decision making skills.
Required Certifications or Special Skills:
Knowledgeable MS applications
Average to superb documentation skills

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php25,000.00 per month
