- PET-CT Machine Preparation
- Perform daily PET-CT quality control procedure of the machine.
- Patient Screening
- Verify patient's identity.
- Ask patient for possible phobias and its capability to comply the position.
- Assess patient's indwelling peripheral tubing. (e.g. catheter, colostomy bag, oxygen, etc.)
- -Review physician's order and/or patient's request to determine the exact procedure.
(e.g. plain or w/ contrast media, type of contrast media, etc.)
- Pre-scan preparation
- - Prepare the linen, blanket, and specific apparatus needed for the procedure.
- - Explain the procedure to the patient and direct to remove any metallic accessories, change diaper if there is any, drain excretion containers attached to the patient that may cause image artifacts.
- Scanning
- - Position and restrain the patient accordingly, and give breathing instruction.
- - Send verified patient encoded in RIS and send to worklist.
- - Perform standard protocol PET/CT Scan examination in accordance to each individual's case.
- - Select technical factor (kvp & mAs) to provide quality image with an optimum use of radiation.
- - Assist the nurse in administering radiographic contrast media using automatic injector.
- - Observe for possible allergic reactions.
- - Check acquired images of CT & PET if properly registered.
- - Ask the reading physician for possible delay scan.
- - Transfer dicom images to PACS for reading and back up
- Post-scan
- - Assist the patient to uptake room and endorse to the nurse in-charge..
- Please Note: You may assign on different branches (Makati, Manila, QC, and possibly Batangas). Compensation may vary according to the branch but the stated salary range is the minimum.
