The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role involves estimating costs, preparing tender documents, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring that project expenditures remain within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Cost Estimation:- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for projects.
Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to understand the project scope.Tender Management:
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and identify the best value offers.
Project Financial Management:
- Monitor project costs and progress to ensure alignment with budgets.
Manage project cash flows, forecasts, and valuations.
- Cost Control and Reporting:
Conduct regular cost reporting and analysis to project stakeholders.- Advise on potential cost-saving measures and mitigate financial risks.
Contract Administration:- Manage contract variations and amendments.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.Stakeholder Liaison:
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices.
Maintain accurate records of project costs and progress.
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.- Professional membership or certification (e.g., RICS) is a plus.
