- Position Summary:
The Quality Control (QC) Department Head will oversee, maintain, and enhance the quality control processes within the department. The QC Department Head ensures that our products consistently meet regulatory requirements, standards of excellence, and customer expectations. S/he is also responsible in identifying areas for improvement and in implementing effective quality control measures throughout the production process.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the QC team and foster a continuous improvement and quality excellence mindset within the team;- Conduct training sessions on quality procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation as necessary;
Develop a comprehensive quality control strategy aligned with the Company goals;
- Establish and implement quality control standards, policies, procedures, and measures to minimize defects and ensure product reliability;
Monitor and ensure adherence to quality guidelines and take corrective actions as necessary in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Quality Assurance, Hot-End, Cold-End);- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential areas for process improvement;
Identify potential quality risks and develop risk mitigation strategies;
- Analyze and use data to optimize the production processes and enhance product quality;
Implement quality systems (i.e. 5S, GMP, GDP, ISO 9001, ISO 15378, etc.)- Ensure that accurate records of quality tests, inspections, and audits are kept according to Good Documentation Practices
Prepare detailed reports on quality performance and present findings to upper management;
- Implement systems for tracking quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure team efficiency;
Establish and maintain relations with customers and external stakeholders to address quality-related inquiries and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner;- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to maintain a high standard of incoming materials;
Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance quality processes;
- Formulate preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment under Quality Control;
Perform other related duties as may be assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; MBA is preferred- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Control (QC), overseeing QC activities within a glass manufacturing company or in a similar industry
Certified in DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB)
- Certified Auditor in quality standards (e.g. 5S, GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 15378, ISO 22000, and ISO 17025)
Strong leadership skills and people management skills, with experience in leading and developing teams- Excellent communication skills (able to communicate objectives, initiatives and performance metrics effectively)
Advanced technical skills to effectively resolve quality issues and implement solutions
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Expertise in Total Quality Management Deployment, data statistical analysis (ensuring compliance with data integrity standards), and ERP- Strategic management, project management, and strong decision-making abilities
Willing to follow a 6-day work week arrangement
Location: Guadalupe, Cebu
