Aqwire is looking to hire a full stack engineer for web applications to join our dynamic and growing team in Makati.

Founded in 2014, Aqwire (formerly known as Qwikwire) is a fintech startup located in Makati, Philippines focused on B2B2C for cross-border payments focused in real estate and service industries, and B2B outbound money transfer.
What we do
Aqwire empowers enterprises to collect payments from anywhere in the world securely, efficiently and at the most competitive rates. We go beyond basic remittance and provide recurring billing, invoicing, customer dashboards and direct client website payments via API. Aqwire is both a (SaaS) Software as a Service and payments platform, providing a global payments collection facility and customized systems.
What you'll do
- Execute test plans, develop manual and automated tests, and assist in analysis of technical issues.
Debug and assist team members across the platform services for the payments infrastructure.- Communicate with the product team to plan, design, develop the product features.
Gathering metrics to help identify high risk areas of the platform and for improvement of the engineering team.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including: automating manual processes; optimizing efficient data delivery; and building reliable payment infrastructure.
Who You Are
We are looking for an experienced QA engineer who can test, maintain and identify issues on Aqwire's accounts, payments and enrollments for our B2B2C customers.
At least 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Good grasp of a scripting language, such as Python or JavaScript
Has experience in using SQL database (Postgresql) or NoSQL database (MongoDB, Redis) for automated load and integration tests.- Excellent English communication skills, able to articulate solutions with Development and Product teams.
Experience with task management tools (Jira, TFS, QASE, Clickup) for documenting, tracking, and monitoring issues in the platform.
- Good understanding and knowledge of computer science concepts, data structure, algorithms, functional and object-oriented programming.
Good grasp of security principles, and develops with a privacy, security-first mindset.
Previous experience in Fintech or Financial Services for 1+ years.- Familiar with an automated testing framework (Cypress, Selenium, PyTest)
Experience in using Git for version control.
- Experience working with PaaS and cloud services - preferably AWS, Azure or GCP.
Experience with API and load testing, writing automated test scripts and browser developer tools.
Work setup- You'll be provided with a Macbook as a work laptop.
4 days work in the office in Poblacion, Makati. 1 day remote work.
- Thursdays is a team collaboration day with pizzas, chicken and beer.
Mondays and Fridays are focused days. Strictly no meeting.
