QAQC Specialist - Boiler & Turbine (Mechanical)

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for Quality assurance and Quality control processes and standards in support of operations and maintenance for the combined power plant assets. This includes planning, coordinating, executing quality assurance and quality control activities. Also, to contribute in improving Plant availability & Reliability and reduce the forced outages by increasing boiler, turbine and other equipment life through provision of development & implementation of QAQC Processes, Conducting daily Inspections, Outage Quality Management readiness & compliances, rectification of issues, and plant failures, documentations & Continuous improvement.

• Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

• License Required: Professional Institution Membership Desirable, Evidence of Professional Competence essential, ASNT Level II, AWS / CSWIP

At least 5 years of related experience, Mechanical Graduate with Thermal Power Plant experience preferred with exposure to Boiler, Turbine and BOP areas

• Leadership Experience: As discipline leader in field, Project Experience: Lead for implementation of ISO9001 processes

ISO9001 Quality Management - Preferably with Lead Auditor Certification

• Auditing skills

Knowledge in Quality Orientation /Induction to organic Employee and contractors.

• Expertise in Preparation and Review QCP, ITP, check sheets and Work methodology

BOILER-Expertise in Boiler Weld Inspection, WQT

• Know How of Daily Contractor RFI Monitor-Inspect Witness & Hold Points

Expertise in Boiler UTG, Welding, NDE Monitor

• Weld Repair rate Monitor

Refractory Quality Monitor

• TURBINE-Verification of Critical Sizes / Measurements of Turbine.

Ensure Raw data inputted into standard Test Certificates.

• BFP, CEP, Heaters, Condensers check

Alignment & Soft footing of rotating equipment check including BOP areas.

• BOP & Aux-Fan, ESP Quality Checks

Valve Lapping and Blue match witness.

• Bolt torquing & Flange Management

Hold QC Binder of the Package and Archive/update

• Manage QCP/ITP and Daily Witness, Hold Point checks and sign off Inspection sheet.

Close Monitor the Workmanship Quality

• Capture Lessons learnt & Recommendations

Ensure Realtime sign off ITP Check sheets

• Compilation & Archiving of all completed documents (QCP, ITP, Inspection sheets, NDT Reports, TFA Recomm etc.)
