Negotiates and purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct inventory level.- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with agreements
Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and internet sites, and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services
- Interview vendors and visit suppliers plants to learn about the products, services, and prices to keep up with price trends and future markets
Formulates policies and procedures of procurement up to the deliveries of goods and services- Draft bid specifications and request bid proposals from vendors.
Procured all materials necessary to support the schedule on a timely basis, negotiating favorable contracts with key suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Engineering or any related course.
Strong negotiating skills- Proven work experience as a purchasing supervisor purchasing agent, or comparable job is advantageous.
High level of resourcefulness.
- Experience as a procurement officer or in a similar role in the construction industry is preferred but not required.
