The Purchasing Associate plays a pivotal role in the procurement process of the company. This position is responsible for assisting in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing various goods and services required by the organization. The Purchasing Associate works closely with the Purchasing Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services
- Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
Sourcing Suppliers: Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
- Vendor Negotiations: Negotiate terms and conditions, prices, and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
Purchase Order Management:
Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.Inventory Control:
Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels, optimizing inventory turnover and minimizing carrying costs.Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased products meet specified quality standards.
- Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, or process improvement.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements. Ensure that all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.Market Analysis:
Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to make informed purchasing decisions.Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and purchasing trends.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures, as well as any relevant laws and regulations.Perform other related tasks as mandated by management.
Educational Attainment
A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or a related field is often preferred, but not always required.
Work Experience/ Number of Years/ Necessary Training Requirement**
Preferred at least 1 year experience in related field, fresh graduate is also welcome to apply.
