Job Summary:As a Purchasing and Logistics Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain. Your role will involve negotiating with vendors, coordinating with various departments to fulfill purchasing needs, and optimizing logistics operations to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
Procurement Management:- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure favorable pricing and terms.- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demands while minimizing carrying costs.- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and losses.
Coordinate the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses or production facilities.- Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and delivery times.
Collaborate with shipping carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues or delays in transit.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing procurement and logistics operations.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, shipments, and inventory levels.
- Prepare and review documentation such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipping manifests.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the procurement and logistics functions.
Implement best practices and initiatives to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure performance and drive improvements.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
