The Opportunity

We are looking for a driven, reliable Property Accounting Manager to join our team. We need an organized, detail-oriented individual who has led accounting teams and is able to communicate effectively and cross-functionally. In this role, you will oversee a team of 4-6 accountants who are performing full-cycle property accounting, while also being responsible for managing a property portfolio. We are seeking a full-time independent contractor to work remotely in the Philippines. A laptop, high-speed internet connection, and a dedicated home workspace are required.

Night Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 am PHT - 9:00 am PHT

Hourly Rate | $16.00 USD - $18.00 USD

What You'll Do

• Manage and take accountability for a team of property accountants
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Conduct weekly team meetings and provide training and oversight to the accounting team
• Take direction well but exercise good, independent judgment when necessary
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements for assigned properties
• Communicate with clients
• Review general ledgers for accounts receivables and accounts payables to ensure accuracy
• Review and approve payment batches
• Manage 1099 tax reporting and compliance
• Manage federal and state tax withholding requirements
• Filing and documenting historical records
• Create and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures
• Monitor emerging technologies to automate accounting processes without compromising accuracy and accountability
• Complete end to end property management accounting including payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, move outs, offboards, etc
• Complete ad hoc projects as assigned

What Qualifies You

• Fluent in English to include excellent written and verbal communication
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or relevant accounting experience
• 3+ years experience managing a team of accountants
• 5+ years experience in property management accounting to include knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, standards, and regulations
• Advanced experience utilizing AppFolio
