About the Role: Virunga Power is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to play a crucial role in supporting the establishment, operations, and performance improvement of our growing utility company. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating critical workstreams, implementing internal controls, and driving overall performance excellence. Responsibilities:
Organizational Setup:
- Lead the development and implementation of organizational structures, policies, and procedures.
Foster a culture of compliance and internal control.- Establish effective performance management systems.
Workstream Coordination:- Oversee and coordinate various workstreams related to utility operations, ensuring seamless integration and timely delivery.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
Performance Improvement:- Analyze utility performance data and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Track progress towards performance goals and report on key metrics.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in other activities as assigned by Virunga Power management.
Represent Virunga Power in interactions with external stakeholders.- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project management processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business administration)
Experience:- Relevant experience in utility management and operations.
Proven track record of success in leading and managing complex projects at a senior level.
- Demonstrable experience in implementing internal controls and performance management systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Additional Preferences:- Experience working in developing countries, particularly sub-Saharan Africa.
Experience working with newly established utilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., project management tools, data analysis tools).
Fluency in English, Kirundi, Swahili and French (highly desirable).- Willing to assign overseas
