An Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the cost of a potential project and providing that information to the company to secure the job.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Identify any potential problems or complications and recommend solutions.- Consult with clients, vendors, and other industry professionals to discuss and formulate estimates.
Update and maintain cost databases.
- Prepare estimates for use in bidding on contracts.
Review and ensure that estimates are accurate and complete.- Collaborate with sales, project managers, architects, engineers, and other construction professionals.
Completed a Bachelor's Degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or any related course.- With at least 6 months to 1 year of related working experience in a similar capacity.
Strong understanding of construction principles and processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Strong mathematical and analytical skills- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with cost estimating software and other industry-specific tools
- Familiarity with construction laws and regulations
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
