Sydenham Laboratories, Inc. (SLI) is an ISO 9001:2008, HACCP Certified, PIC/s GMP compliant pharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures healthcare products. SLI manufactures oral drug preparations in dosage forms of tablet, capsule, syrup, and powder for suspension. Non-penicillin, penicillin and cephalexin-based products are manufactured in separate buildings with clean room hepa-filtered exclusive air-handling systems to ensure zero-cross contamination. SLI also manufactures food supplements in the above dosage forms.
SLI is founded in 1971 by Dr. Eduardo R. dela Cruz, MD, a cardiologist and a former president of Philippine Medical Association.
SLI derived its name from one of the great British physicians, Dr. Thomas Sydenham, known as the English Hippocrates, the founder of clinical medicine, and an advocate of effective management of illness that emphasized detailed observation and maintained patient records.
The Role
You Will Be Responsible For
- Managing the day to day production activities and ensuring that the production shopfloor and workstations are running smoothly and cost effectively.
- Promoting operational excellence and production of high-quality products.
- Liaising with different teams across the plant to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Driving continuous improvement regarding line efficiency by periodically reviewing performance results of production lines and taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Reviewing worker performance and implementing coaching and training as required.
- Driving the use of Operational Excellence (Lean Six Sigma) methodologies through coaching the project teams to continuously streamline processes and eliminate waste to achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Creating a culture based on Lean Operating Principles.
- Managing a team of 11-50 people.
Ideal Profile
- You have at least 3 years experience including solid experience in a similar role within Healthcare & Lifesciences.
- You possess excellent communication and influencing skills, are organised and able to multi-task effectively.
- You have working knowledge of Industrial Engineer
- You are a strong team player who can manage multiple stakeholders
- You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable dealing with numerical data
- You are a strong mentor and coach who builds high performing teams
