Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of production workers and ensuring that production targets are met on time and within budget. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, maintaining safety standards, ensuring product quality, and optimizing production processes. The Production Supervisor also serves as the point of contact between management and production staff.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Team Management:
Oversee and manage the daily activities of production staff, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
Train, mentor, and motivate production workers to perform their duties efficiently.
Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth production operations.
Production Planning And Monitoring
Ensure production goals are met, maintaining optimal levels of productivity and efficiency.
Assign tasks and monitor the workflow to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changing production demands or issues.
Monitor production metrics and analyze data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Quality Assurance
Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.
Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process.
Implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent future defects.
Work closely with the quality control team to enforce quality protocols and procedures.
Safety And Compliance
Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and resolve hazards.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Provide safety training to production staff and ensure the use of protective equipment.
Equipment Maintenance And Troubleshooting
Ensure that all production equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
Work with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance and repair work.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve them quickly to minimize downtime.
Reporting And Documentation
Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, downtime, and labor hours.
Generate and submit reports on production performance, including issues, delays, and achievements.
Assist in inventory management by tracking the use of materials and reporting shortages.
