Production Planning Officer

I.GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for maintaining both the availability of finished goods and low inventory cost (for finished goods, raw materials and packaging materials)

II.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A.Departmental Coordination

1.Coordinates and communicates with different departments on plans and concerns that will affect production:

a.Marketing and Sales on promotions, special packing and sampling.

b.R&D/QA on product development and changes in formulation.

c.Purchasing suppliers lead time and delivery concerns

d.Logistics on inventories of materials and finished goods.

2.Attends Sales and Marketing Operations Meeting to be able to link the Marketing and Sales plan with the production plan; checks if production capacity can meet the demand requirements.

B.Production Planning

1.Prepares and updates production schedules based on forecast requirements, taking into consideration the production capacity. Production schedules include time per shift of workers, dates of production and quantity needed. Production capacity includes both capacity of manpower and machine.

2.Coordinates with the Production on schedules and requirements.

3.Handles requisition of materials of the production area that will be needed for production run.

4.Prepares manufacturing order based on the demand requirement.

5.Ensures proper timing of production by regularly checking finished goods inventory status and adjusting production schedules accordingly.

C.Materials Requirement Planning

1.Prepares and updates the materials delivery schedule based on:

a.current materials inventory

b.supplier's lead-time

c.production schedule

d.waste allowance

e.safety allowance

2.Coordinates with the suppliers on the materials delivery given the date and quantity needed.

3.Coordinates with QA regarding rejected materials.

D.Monitoring

1.Monitors finished goods inventory.

2.Monitors accuracy of forecasts by comparing the withdrawal versus the forecast.

3.Monitors and keeps track of raw and packaging materials inventory.

4.Prepares the following reports:

a.Planning reports

b.Inventory status

c.Sales Hit rate

JOB SPECIFICATIONS : Graduate of BS Industrial Engineering or any Engineering course, analytical, keen to details, computer proficient, 5 to 7 year work experience.
