Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs various duties that includes set-up, assembly, test, troubleshoot, and repair of optoelectronic products. Uses a variety of assembly and test equipment including optical power meters, digital multimeters, laser source, and other input/output optoelectronic test devices.
- Testing and inspection of precision optoelectronic devices up to micron level. Ensure that all products are within the manufacturing specified performance limits.
- Understand and execute work according to work instructions, work within the limits of prescribed procedures, specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and written/verbal instructions. Compiles and records assembly and test result. Discuss technical problems with Team Leaders and Production Supervisors.
- Escalate any non-conformance on procedures, product specifications, ESD controls, and safety practices.
- Work with Team Leaders, Production Supervisors and Engineers to develop more efficient process and high quality products.
- Performs operational duties according to the planned production schedule. Ensures all production targets are attained - output, yield, and quality.
- Ensures safety on all operational activities - follow standard operating procedure. Comply with the standards, rules and regulations issued by the company EHS officer.
Education & Experience
- Graduate of any Technical/Vocational School or minimum 1 year in college.
Skills
- Electronics and component level assembly understanding. Skills on fiber handling - splicing and cleaving is a plus.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions. Work within the limits of prescribed procedures, specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and written/verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills required for interaction within group. Ability to establish open communications and effective working relationship with other personnel.
- With very fine hand motor skills - steady and can handle very small components with ease.
- Resourcefulness - Effectively uses all information sources and is skilled in obtaining additional resources when necessary.
- Initiative- Possesses the quality of knowing what has to be done; execute activities in advance of need.
- Interpersonal Communication- Has the ability to identify and understand personal values of superiors, subordinates, peers and others.
- Strong computer skills - basic and advance excel techniques and word formatting.
- Keen to minute details - able to discern very small defects through naked eye and micron level defects with the aid of microscope.
- Ability to identify and work with basic tools and machine processes as necessary for his/her operation.
- Flexibility - flexible with assigned process operations and can be cross-trained and meet output responsibility to his/her assigned process.
- Ability to get to work on time and perform overtime as needed to meet any delivery schedules.
- For team leader position - with basic supervisory skills: people management, production planning and scheduling, conflict resolution, communication, and escalation skills.
- For team leader position - with basic manpower development skills: able to lead process training and certifications. Can perform TNA (training needs analysis) and execute training needs as required.
Working Conditions
- Shifting working schedule including night shift. Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed including weekends.
